Taking Over an Existing User Account with JumpCloud

When a user is bound to a system, regardless of method, the JumpCloud agent will either provision a new local user account to the system, or it will take over an existing local user account. In order to take over an existing local user: If taking over a user fails, then the prerequisites above may not be met, or another condition may exist that is causing the agent to not synchronize with the system.  See JumpCloud Agent does not start or synchronize changes for additional troubleshooting steps.

Note that for account takeover to update the 'local items' Keychain and FileVault correctly on Apple Computers end users must log out and then log back into their machine after their JumpCloud identity has been bound to their endpoint.

During this process, they will be presented with a modified login screen that will ask for their previous password and their current password as shown below.
