LDAP connection attempt results in invalid credentials (49) - cannot bind

Symptoms

When you attempt to integrate an application with JumpCloud's LDAP server, or run a query from an LDAP client, you may receive LDAP: invalid credentials (49). This indicates that the client application was unable to bind (authenticate) to JumpCloud's LDAP servers.

Cause
  • Incorrect username
  • Incorrect password
  • No LDAP Binding User Service Account has been defined
