Support Center

Single Sign On (SSO) with Base CRM

Important: This article contains out-of-date information. For current application information, see Connecting Applications with JumpCloud Using Pre-Built Connectors.

Prerequisites:

Notes:

  • How to configure User authorization.
  • Once the administrator has enabled the SSO configuration in Base, users (and the administrator) will only be able to sign in via SSO. To prevent account lockout during testing, we recommend that the configuring administrator sign in to Base in a browser separate from the one in which he or she will complete testing. If the SSO configuration fails, the administrator will still have access to the account in the other browser and can modify or disable the configuration as needed.

Configure the Service Provider: Part 1

  1. Log in to Base as an administrator.
  2. Select the down arrow in the upper-right corner and select Settings from the drop-down menu.
  3. Select Single Sign On.
  4. Select Configure.
  5. Copy the Service Provider Issuer ID.
  6. Leave the Base CRM configuration page open.

Configure the JumpCloud SSO Application

  1. Access the JumpCloud Administrator Console at https://console.jumpcloud.com.
  2. Select Applications in the main navigation panel.
  3. Select the + in the upper left, scroll or search for the application in the 'Configure New Application' side panel, the select 'configure'.
  4. You can upload a service provider application's XML metadata file to populate SAML connector attributes for that application. The attributes populated by the metadata file may vary by the application. To apply a metadata file for the application you're connecting, click Upload Metadata. Navigate to the file you want to upload, then click Open. You'll see a confirmation of a successful upload. Be aware that if you upload more than one metadata file, you'll overwrite the attribute values applied in the previously uploaded file.
  5. In the IDP Entity ID field, enter https://YOURDOMAIN.TLD (e.g., https://thebestwidgets.com).
  6. Select Upload IdP Private Key and upload the private.pem file generated according to the above prerequisites.
  7. Select Upload IdP Certificate and upload the cert.pem file generated according to the above prerequisites.
  8. In the SP Entity ID field, paste the Service Provider Issuer ID you copied from the Base CRM configuration page (ex: https://core.futuresimple.com/sso/saml/b417e768-8698-4c58-ba8b-5308818/metadata).
  9. In the ACS URL field, paste the Service Provider Issuer ID and replace metadata with consume at the end of this URL (or you may copy and paste this value directly from the Base CRM configuration page underneath the label Service Provider Assertion Consumer Service URL).
  10. In the field terminating the IdP URL, either leave the default value or enter a plaintext string unique to this connector.
  11. (Optional) In the Display Label field, enter a label that will appear under the Service Provider logo within the JumpCloud User console.
  12. Select Activate.

Configure the Service Provider: Part 2

  1. Back in Base, select Manual setup.
  2. In the Identity Provider Issuer ID field, enter https://YOURDOMAIN.com (this should be the same value you entered while configuring JumpCloud).
  3. In the Identity Provider SSO URL field, enter the same IdP URL that you set in the JumpCloud console (if you did not modify the termination of this URL, then enter the default URL: https://sso.jumpcloud.com/saml2/base).
  4. In the Identity Provider certificate fingerprint field, enter your public certificate fingerprint.
  5. Select Save.
  6. Select Enable.
