Log in to User Portal with MFA

If your IT admin has required you to use an authenticator app, you’ll log in to the User Portal and SSO applications with it. Make sure you set up an authenticator app first. JumpCloud recommends you use JumpCloud Protect, which can also be set up to conveniently log you in with a push notification sent to your device.

Note:

Verification codes are valid for 60 seconds. Your authenticator app shows a new code every 60 seconds. If your code expires before it is validated, enter the next code your authenticator app shows. Additionally, identity verification attempts are not unlimited. Allowed number of user attempts is set by the IT Admin; admin attempts are limited to five. If settings are selected, that will count toward password or MFA attempts.

Logging in to the User Portal

To log in to your JumpCloud User Portal with an authenticator app:

  1. Go to your JumpCloud User Portal.
  2. Enter your username, and click Continue.
  3. On the next screen, enter your password and click Login.
  4. You’re prompted to verify your identity. Choose the method you already set up.
  5. Enter the 6-digit code your authenticator app shows for JumpCloud User.

Launching SSO Apps

If you launch an SSO application from your User Portal and your session is active, you'll automatically be logged in to the SSO app.

If you launch an SSO application from your User Portal and your User Portal session isn’t active, you’ll be directed to a login screen that looks like the User Portal Login:

  1. Enter your username and password, then click Login.
  2. You’re prompted to enter a verification code.
  3. Open your authenticator app to get a verification code.
  4. Enter the 6-digit code your authenticator app shows for JumpCloud User
