Integrate Syncro PSA in the MTP

The Syncro PSA integration in the JumpCloud Multi-Tenant Portal (MTP) allows Managed Service Provider (MSP) Admins to stay informed on their customers’ product usage, along with being alerted on high priority actionable incidents in the MTP.

Considerations:

  • Since JumpCloud uses the “High Water-Mark” for billing, the Quantity field on the line items in a recurring invoice on Syncro PSA will be updated with the current High Water-Mark for the month for the “mapped” JumpCloud Organization.
  • Updates occur daily at 12 PM EST, you may have to check back the next day for the integration to appear after it’s been configured.

Prerequisites:

  • An Admin with Billing role is required to set up Integrations within the MTP.
  • A bearer (authorized API) Token from Syncro PSA, see Prepare Syncro PSA for Integration in the MTP.
  • Configure your Integration with JumpCloud.
  • Map JumpCloud organizations to Syncro PSA customers.
  • Set up ticketing alerts for organizations.

Configuring the Syncro PSA Integration with JumpCloud

To configure the integration:

  1. Log in to your MTP: https://console.jumpcloud.com.
  2. Click on the Integrations tab.
    • This is only visible for the Admin with Billing role.
  3. On the Syncro PSA integration, click Configure
  4. You need the following information from your Syncro PSA account:
    • Subdomain*: You will find this on your URL to Syncro PSA MSP.
    • API Token: The token you generated and saved from the previous section.
  5. Go back to your Syncro PSA account tab and copy the subdomain from the URL from the API token page. It should look something like this: subdomain.syncromsp.com/api_tokens

Note:

This is not the same as your username. The subdomain refers to the part of the URL before syncromsp.com, ex: https://yourdomain.syncromsp.com

  1. In your MTP, paste the subdomain into the Subdomain* field.
  2. Copy/Paste the API token that you generated and saved into the API Token field.
  3. Click Verify and Save. JumpCloud will try connecting to your Syncro PSA instance. You’ll either receive an ‘Integration has been created’ notification and can continue to configure, or you’ll receive an error message. Check the data you submitted and try again.

Mapping a JumpCloud Organization to the Corresponding Syncro PSA Customer

To map organizations and customers:

  1. After authenticating, click on the Customers tab. A list of all your JumpCloud Organizations will be ready to map to Syncro PSA Customers.
  2. Click Configure next to any of the Organizations, then under the Syncro PSA Customer dropdown menu, select the customer you’d like to map to and click Save.
    • If you created a new Customer in Syncro PSA and aren’t seeing it in the dropdown menu, click Refresh Data from Syncro PSA to retrieve the most recent data.
  3. Continue this for all of the organizations and customers you need to map.

Mapping Recurring Invoices

Note: Invoice Line Items on your recurring invoices will be automatically updated in Syncro PSA with the High Water-Mark. This only applies to mapped customers and schedules.

To configure invoice line items:

  1. Click on the Billing tab, then click Configure for the customer you’d like to map recurring invoices for.
  2. Under the Recurring Invoice (Schedule), click the dropdown menu and select a recurring invoice (schedule).
  3. Under Line Item, click the dropdown menu and select an option.
    • If you created a new Customer in Syncro PSA and aren’t seeing it in the dropdown menu, click Refresh Data from Syncro PSA to retrieve the most recent data.
  4. Click Save. Then continue this for all of the customers you need to map recurring invoices for.
  5. To edit or disable a recurring invoice for a customer, click Edit and make your changes in the dropdown menus, then click Save. Click Disable and confirm you want the invoice line item to be removed and no longer sync to Syncro PSA.

Set Up Ticketing Alerts

The types of Ticketing alerts currently available are:

  • Disk Encryption Key Decrypted
  • User Admin Access Granted
  • User Lockout
  • User Password Expired

To set up Ticketing:

  1. After mapping, click on the Ticketing tab.
  2. If you want ticketing alerts, toggle the Automated Ticketing on. This will cause selected issues to automatically generate a ticket in your Syncro PSA. This only applies to mapped organizations.
  3. Click Edit next to any of the Alerts to configure and turn them on.
  4. You can toggle Automatic Ticketing On or Off for specific alerts.

Note: All mapped customers will see the alerts that have been turned on.

  1. You can change the PriorityIssue TypeStatus, amount of Days Due, and Tech Assigned To. You’ll also need to toggle alerts on individually so that they generate tickets.
  2. Click Save

Edit or Disable the Syncro PSA Configuration

To edit or disable the configuration:

  1. On the Integrations page, click Edit on Syncro PSA to open it.
  2. If you need to edit any of the mappings, click Customers, then click Edit next to the one you want to make changes to. Click Save when you’re done.
  3. If you need to disable any of the companies, click Disable next to the Organization. You’ll be prompted to confirm, and click Save.

Warning: Disabling will remove all mappings selected for that organization and will not sync the data daily. If you want to sync the data again, you’ll need to re-configure the mappings.

  1. If you need to disable the entire configuration, open the Syncro PSA integration and click on the Integrations tab. At the bottom, click Disable Integration & Clear Data, you’ll be prompted to confirm and click Disable & Clear. You’ll receive an “Integration has been disabled” notification.

Warning: This removes all data including Authentication, Customer mappings and Contract and Service data in JumpCloud. This action can’t be undone. If you want to sync the data again, you’ll need to re-configure the integratio
